Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], August 5 (ANI): The All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary, K.C. Venugopal, said that the last Congress-led JDS-Congress coalition government in the state had been completely distorted by the conspiracy of the BJP Central leadership.
Speaking after a crucial meeting with Karnataka Congress leaders on Sunday, KC Venugopal said, “Last Congress-led JDS-Congress coalition government in the state had been completely distorted by the conspiracy of the BJP Central leadership. They are framing similar conspiracies now to save their people… They are targeting our elected government… Everybody knows how Siddaramaiah has risen in stature. We started with guarantee schemes in Karnataka to address the concerns of the poor in the state… We don’t understand why the government of the state was given a show-cause notice. They tried to create the perception that the government was going to be destabilised. Today we have decided to fight against the conspiracy of the BJP-JDS…”
Earlier, he stated that they will not succumb to the conspiracy by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal (Secular) to sabotage the Congress government.
“We will go to the people, explain the facts to them, and fight unitedly,” Venugopal added.
He said that serious developments in Karnataka state politics were discussed with the state ministers. The Karnataka BJP has a history of toppling governments.
The Congress leader vowed that the party would fight these attempts to sabotage the government and pledged to raise awareness among the public about the benefits of the guarantee schemes and the opposition’s efforts to disrupt them.
He instructed ministers and legislators to visit their constituencies and communicate the government’s achievements and plans directly to the people.
Venugopal accused the BJP and JD(S) leaders of trying to protect their interests and family members by creating issues against the Congress government.
He mentioned the Prajwal Revanna case as an example of how these parties have been conspiring against the Congress administration.
He defended Siddaramaiah, highlighting his long-standing commitment to public service and integrity. Venugopal asserted that Siddaramaiah’s political journey and values are well-known and respected by the people of Karnataka.
Venugopal expressed concern that the BJP and JD(S) are trying to destabilise the government because of the Congress-led administration’s successful implementation of guarantee schemes for the poor.
He claimed that these schemes are seen as a threat to the opposition’s political interests, prompting them to create controversies and undermine the government’s stability.
Criticising the governor, Venugopal described the governor’s actions as unfortunate and indicative of BJP influence. He accused the governor of attempting to create a perception of instability by issuing notices to the Chief Minister. (ANI)
