Saharanpur (Uttar Pradesh) [India],August 10(ANI): Reacting to Air Chief Marshal AP Singh’s remarks on Operation Sindoor, Congress MP Imran Masood on Sunday questioned the timing of the statement, alleging it might be aimed at “shifting the narrative” and diverting attention from allegations against the Election Commission.
Speaking to ANI,Masood said, ” I don’t understand the timing of the statement. Is this being said to shift the narrative and hide the allegations against the Election Commission?… We have complete confidence in our army… Due to their courage and bravery, we ask: despite possessing enough courage to easily take PoK, why can’t they accomplish this?”
Earlier in the day, Congress leader Udit Raj said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi betrayed the nation by not reclaiming PoK.
Speaking to ANI, the Congress leader said, “PM Modi betrayed the nation. I completely agree with (Air Chief Marshal) AP Singh’s statement that we shot down five Pakistani planes, Pakistan’s condition was bad, then we should not have declared a ceasefire on Trump’s saying and should have taken PoK. When Pakistan had surrendered and its condition was bad, when you got the chance to take over PoK, why didn’t you take it?”
Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Singh, on Saturday, credited the “political will” of the Central government for the success of Operation Sindoor that allowed the Indian Armed Forces (IAF) to conduct the operations without any constraints.
Addressing an event at HAL Management Academy in Bengaluru, the Indian Air Force Chief emphasised that there were “no restrictions” on armed forces and any constraints that the armed forces exercised were self-made.”A key reason for success was the presence of political will. There was very clear political will and very clear directions given to us. No restrictions were put on us… If there were any constraints, they were self-made. The forces decided what the rules of engagement would be. We decided how we wanted to control the escalation. We had full freedom to plan and execute,” Air Chief Marshal said.
India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 as a decisive military response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 people were killed. The Indian Armed Forces targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, leading to the death of over 100 terrorists affiliated with terror outfits like the Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen.
