Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], August 15 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav hoisted the National Flag on the occasion of 78th Independence Day in Bhopal on Thursday.

CM Yadav took the salute of the parade at Lal Parade ground in the state capital on the occasion and extended greetings to the people of the state.
“I extend my greetings to all the citizens of the state on the occasion of 78th Independence day. Today is the occasion of remembering the brave heroes, freedom fighters and patriots who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s independence. Our government is committed to dedicate administration for public welfare and to make arrangements for the benefits of the government’s poor welfare scheme to reach the needy,” CM Yadav said in his address on the occasion.
“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has made its identity across the globe. The last decade has been an era of enhancing the pride of the nation. A glorious and powerful India is being made under the leadership of PM Modi. India is heading towards becoming the third largest economy in the world,” the CM said.
The people of Madhya Pradesh have always been showcasing their yearning for development and love for the nation, he added, elaborating that the state government is working to double the state budget in the next five years.
Earlier, CM Yadav hoisted the national flag at CM House and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters in the state capital. He also reached Shaurya Smarak and paid floral tribute to statute of mother India and homage to soldiers.

In a post on X, CM Yadav wrote, “On the occasion of 78th Independence Day, I reached Shaurya Smarak and paid floral tribute to the statue of Mother India. I also paid homage to the brave soldiers who sacrificed everything for the country.”

“I extended my wishes to all the citizens of the country and the state on the occasion of Independence Day. We have hoisted the national flag here at BJP headquarters. The occasion is filled with joy and happiness. We will all strive to have a Viksit Madhya Pradesh and a Viksit Bharat. This moment has been possible only after countless sacrifices during the freedom struggle. We will never forget their contribution,” CM told reporters.
He further added that under the leadership of PM Modi the country and the state would move ahead.

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jitu Patwari hoisted the national flag at the state Congress office in Bhopal.
Earlier today, PM Modi was warmly welcomed by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and other dignitaries as he arrived for the celebrations at Red Fort. The Prime Minister was seen dressed in a white kurta and blue vest and sporting a traditional multicolour safa.
This year’s celebration marks the 11th time PM Modi addressed the nation from the Red Fort on Independence Day, making him the third Prime Minister after Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi to achieve this milestone.
The theme for this year’s Independence Day is ‘Viksit Bharat @ 2047,’ aiming to drive the Government’s efforts to transform India into a developed nation by 2047. (ANI)
