Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], July 25 (ANI): After the BJP leaders in Karnataka staged a night-long sit-in at the Karnataka Legislative Assembly in protest against various alleged scams of the Siddaramiah government, Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar accused the BJP of stopping CM Siddaramiah from replying to allegations of the various scams cited by the BJP.
“A lot of scams have been done in the BJP regime and their investigation is on. We wanted to reply in the assembly and they wanted to stop us. But in his written speech, CM had given a detailed reply on the number of scams that have happened and how they have happened… SIT was already investigating and now ED and CBI have entered… We don’t want to intervene with the investigation,” DK Shivakumar said.
Higher Education Minister MC Sudhakar said on Thursday that the BJP is unnecessarily creating issues that had happened during their tenure, and it is purely a political drama played by them to get people’s attention.
“See, the BJP is unnecessarily creating issues that happened during their tenure. At the same time, they didn’t allow our CM to reply, so you can understand their attitude… They want to make all allegations against the government and they are not allowing us to give our side of the facts and figures of what is available, who is responsible for all this, and all of the beneficiaries in the Valmiki issues…So this is purely a political drama being played by the BJP just to get the people’s attention,” he said.
He further questioned the BJP on why they weren’t speaking on the electoral bonds issue if they are making this such a big issue.
He further stated that the enforcement agencies aren’t bothered to inquire about the bond issues and said that the BJP is using these agencies to make allegations against the Karnataka Chief Minister and other party leaders.
“I would like to ask my friends in the BJP. If you’re making such a big issue, why aren’t you speaking about the electoral bond issue? The Supreme Court is directly monitoring and asked to inquire about this but other enforcement agencies are not bothered to inquire about the whole bond issue. And you are using all the enforcement agencies and asking them to make allegations against the Chief Minister and other important leaders in the party itself. It is very clear that the BJP is desperate to disturb all the opposition governments in this country,” Sudhakar said.
Speaking on the opposition demanding the CM’s resignation on the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scams, Sudhakar said it was a ridiculous request that the BJP put out.
“It’s a ridiculous request, whatever they have put out. In that case, the finance minister of this country is responsible. The bank people have made mistakes, transferred the amount and are also equally responsible. In what way is our CM responsible for it?” he said. (ANI)
