Agartala (Tripura) [India], July 3 (ANI): Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha’s government on Wednesday made a key objective to provide employment to qualified individuals through transparent recruitment policies, ensuring that deserving candidates are not deprived.
The state government has already provided a total of 13,661 jobs across four categories during its tenure.
Chief Minister Manik Saha made this announcement at a job offer distribution ceremony held at the Panchayat Raj Training Institute in A D Nagar, Agartala, on Wednesday. The event saw the distribution of job offers to Panchayat Executive Officers, CDPOs, and ICDS Supervisors.
In his address, Chief Minister Saha emphasised the government’s commitment to working with a transparent approach. He noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had spoken about the plight of candidates from underprivileged backgrounds, who often do not know where to seek employment opportunities.
The Chief Minister stressed that a transparent and fair examination process is crucial to ensuring that even the most disadvantaged individuals have the opportunity to secure jobs based on merit.
Dr. Saha presented detailed statistics on job provision during the current government’s tenure.
In Group A, 99 jobs were provided in 2018-19, 4 in 2019-20, 40 in 2020-21, 223 in 2021-22, 147 in 2022-23, and 28 in 2023-24. In Group B, 1 job was provided in 2018-19, 3 in 2019-20, 4 in 2020-21, 16 in 2021-22, 77 in 2022-23, and 7 in 2023-24. In Group C, 986 jobs were provided in 2018-19, 965 in 2019-20, 629 in 2020-21, 2,699 in 2021-22, 5,044 in 2022-23, and 1,966 in 2023-24. In Group D, 100 jobs were provided in 2018-19, 174 in 2019-20, 121 in 2020-21, 134 in 2021-22, 116 in 2022-23, and 78 in 2023-24.
The Chief Minister posed a rhetorical question, challenging critics who claim that jobs are not being provided. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to maintaining transparency in all recruitment processes. Dr Saha added that the newly recruited employees would receive training to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge for their roles.
The Chief Minister also expressed pride in the achievements of Tripura’s officers and employees who have received awards at the national level. He highlighted the recent implementation of the e-Panchayat system in the state, made possible through the teamwork of government employees and officers.
The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including MLA Meena Rani Sarkar, Chief Secretary JK Sinha, Chief Minister’s Secretary Dr PK Chakraborty, State Government Secretary Apurba Roy, Secretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Social Education Tapas Roy, and Secretary of the Rural Development Department Hemendra Kumar Raval, among other senior officials.
A total of 473 new recruits received their job offer letters from the Chief Minister and other distinguished guests.
In conclusion, Chief Minister Dr. Saha welcomed the new recruits to the Tripura government family and urged them to uphold transparency and contribute to the state’s development. (ANI)
